Working
systematically: Your preparation
What
do you need to think about?
Getting started
From these materials, print, read and discuss:
- the conversation between Rosemary Cahill and Glenys Collard,
and think about what contribution you would make to that
conversation.

- the text contained behind the 'Doors' on this website
(and answer the questions).

How
well are you doing?
This checklist has been found a useful way to assess the state
of your practice. Aspects of it will recur and be explained
elsewhere in these materials.
Get
the checklist…
Tick areas from the checklist where you think improvement
is desirable and those where you think it could be achieved.
Compare your responses with those of other members of your
staff, working group, parent community.
Where are they the same? Where do they differ? Why?
Clarify
the focal points for your work
- What are the issues you are trying to resolve? (How do
you know? What is the evidence? What data do you have?)
- Brainstorm and list some possible responses.
- What resources have you got at your disposal now? (people,
ideas, programs and funding, learning materials)
The
Workbook includes a 'spidergram' which can also be used to
assess programs and strategies.
